Devin + Heather | Elopement

These two – I don’t even know where to begin. First off, they’re some of the sweetest people we’ve ever met. Anyone who trusts us enough to pick all the locations, floral suggestion (and referral of the amazing @cassia.foret to execute), transport them, marry them, photograph, and help coordinate nearly every detail, all while having dinner & dessert together afterward? Yeah, my kind of couple.

Anywho. Their officiant sort of backed out once all the craziness in Big Sur happened and we decided to move up to the Henry Cowell Redwood State Park in Santa Cruz. Backing out last minute left everyone quite frazzled, and that’s when it clicked- Austin’s marrying our two amazing friends in Southern California later this year, so he needed to be ordained anyway. Might as well have that box checked off before hand just in case this kind of thing happened again in the future!

We adventured together and held a sweet ceremony within this stunning tree that was so symbolic – burnt and battered, yet regrowing and continuing to thrive despite its setbacks. Such a beautiful place to begin a marriage. Not to mention, Heather went barefoot the entire time! She looked like she was a woodland princess.

These two were so incredibly kind, patient, sweet, and you could just tell their love for each other was incredibly pure. I truly hope they can move here so we can all be best friends!
